Inexpensive Trenching Machine encompasses new cutting technology
The launch of a new trenching machine encompassing new cutting technology and with optimum forward speeds between 600 and 1400 metres per hour is timely giving the best resultsdepending upon soil type, moisture content and soil compaction.

The machine cuts a clean trench suitable for :

60mm,
80mm,
100mm, and
110mm land drainage pipes

and may be used also for installing underground water pipes, irrigation mains, and cables as well as ground beams for BS 1722 :part 12 palisade.

The Trenchman 150 being marketed by Sheltons Drainage Solutions fits on the 3-point linkage of a tractor and is pto driven.
Fifty six tungsten carbide teeth arranged in spiral formation cut a trench 150mm [6”] wide to a maximum depth of 800mm [32”]. The spoil is neatly placed either side of the trench.

David Shelton, Managing Partner of Sheltons, said at a recent demonstration “This machine is being aimed specifically at the agricultural market.
“Its relatively low cost should appeal to the many farmers and horticulturists whose crop yields are well below average this year due to waterlogging.
“With tight margins a d.i.y. scheme is all that some can afford and the Trenchman 150 will be suitable for many of them.”

At the demonstration the award winning machine worked equally well in wet sticky clay, hard dry soils, and in long grass. Its self-cleaning action was impressive.

It is being marketed direct at £4,995 + VAT ex-works Lincolnshire; contact the firm on 01507 578288.
